You Daily Blessings - Do You Watch for Them?

“ Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” – Psalms 34:8
Do you look for the blessings in your day? Those little instances where you receive kisses from heaven? Surprises that catch you off guard? Some might be small and seemingly insignificant while others are more noticeable and impacting.
Did you know these blessings, even little ones, are Father’s way of letting you know He loves you? When you experience them, you can’t quite make sense of it all. Sometimes the gift and action are so contrary to what we anticipate in life, they are our undoing and our emotions can overwhelm us.
Life can be so full that we miss those little moments that signal to us that God loves us. A day can pass quickly before we even realize something was given to us. The gift can be a smile, a touch, or an embrace, a kind act of servitude, a gift of sorts, or a shared moment with someone special. Moments like these are to be treasured as God’s heavenly gifts to us.
Recently, while accompanying my wife for a consultation at a local hospital, we arrived thinking the appointment was on the second level. We were incorrect. Asking for directions from a nurse, she accompanied us to two other floors before finding the right location. The door to the clinic supposedly being locked, opened to find a housekeeping staff who without hesitation led us to another unit. Once again, another nurse assisted use confirmed that the clinic was closed. What could have been a frustrating experience was made so much easier by the help of ‘angels’ God positioned each step of the way to help us.
Before Christmas I was blessed in another way that caught me completely off guard. Our blender canister has fallen to the floor and cracked. Liquids were beginning to seep from this crack requiring the canister to be replaced. An internet search revealed the manufacturer being the only option for a replacement. Emailing them through their website brought a fairly prompt response. Payment information was exchanged and I was told the canister was being shipped that day, the last possible day before Christmas and minutes before they closed for the season. In my hurriedness, the credit card information provided proved faulty with one digit being incorrect. By the time it was resolved, the assistant emailed to say “no charge”. I thanked her -but not quite sure what that meant. Looking at my credit card statement a few weeks later, I realized she must have processed the order as a replacement and hence, the ‘no charge’ email.
These two incidents revealed to me how much God desires to bless us in so many different ways. They may be emotional, spiritual, physical and financial blessings. No matter what shape they come in, they are there for the receiving.
When did you last take time to reflect on your daily blessings?
